Michal Andrews

Michal has a B.Sc. (Hons.), Accounting from UWI, is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) UK and holds a Diploma from the postgraduate International Tax Program (ITP) of the Harvard Law School, USA.

She has 38 years of practical experience mainly in the area of taxation and regarded as one of the foremost experts in Value Added Tax Implementation in the world. Michal was appointed to head T&T Inland Revenue’s VAT Implementation Team in 1990 she became the first Commissioner of the Board of Inland Revenue for the administration of the VAT.

Michal joined Ernst & Young in 1992 as a Principal/Partner heading the firm’s tax practice in Trinidad & Tobago and is an Accredited Director of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Canada she also serves as a Director on several Boards, Trinidad and Tobago Unit Trust Corp., Trinidad and Tobago Insurance Ltd., TATIL Life, L.J. Williams Co. Ltd. and Anthony P. Scott Ltd.

In 2012 at the 50th Anniversary of Trinidad and Tobago’s Public Service, she was awarded for her Outstanding Public Service.

Michal is a private tax consultant and Managing Director-joint Owner of M & J Services Limited, a Consulting and Real Estate Company which built and operates Stor-It Self Storage.

Michal is Director-Treasurer of WAND, Chairman of First Citizens Bank’s Pink Fund Foundation which supports the efforts of NGOs who assist women to heal from violence. She is a past President of the Mayfair Ladies Bridge Club and a member of the Trinidad & Tobago Contract Bridge Association.
