Karen Lee Lum

Armed with a B.Sc Agriculture and Executive MBA (Distinction) she began a 25 year career in the food and beverage sector. Joining Carib Brewery Ltd (Champs Fleurs) in 1990 as a Brewing Technician and later as Quality Assurance and Research Manager, she developed competencies in quality management systems, project management and business strategy.

In 2004 Karen founded Consultancy Projects Specialists Ltd with the objective of building the global competitiveness of regional micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises, providing services in Strategic Business Management, Project Management, Resource Mobilization, Research and Knowledge Management. For five years as the Regional Herbal Programme Coordinator for the Inter-American Institute for the Cooperation on Agriculture Karen was responsible for the regional start-up, resource mobilization and business development of the Caribbean Herbal Business Association.

In 2008 she transitioned to the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute to manage their regional portfolio of agricultural research and development Projects and facilitate collaboration between entities along the value-chain.

For the past decade her professional focus has been enabling the economic competitiveness of Educational & Research Institutions, Business Associations, NGOs, CBOs and private companies and importantly, building sustainable community-social development into their business strategies.

Karen was welcomed to the WAND Board in 2013.
